BOOMTOWN SUMMER SCHOOL 2016

18/07/2016 – 23/07/2016

BOOMTOWN SUMMER SCHOOL 2016

Each summer, for ten days straight, the city of Ghent is under the spell of the Gentse Feesten, a popular cultural festival taking place on various locations in the city. One of the annual events happening during that week is Boomtown, an alternative music festival with a wide range of performing artists. This year Smoke & Dust introduces the Boomtown Summer School! Under guidance of Bart de Baets (NL), Publication Studio Rotterdam (NL, Yin Yin Wong & Micha Zweifel), Ine Meganck (BE) and We Became Aware (BE, Valentijn Goethals & Tomas Lootens) participants will be challenged to collaborate, engage and interact with the festival and its audience in a visual and compelling way.

A terrain facilitated with tools and machinery will be open to the public where an intensive program of workshops, assignments and exercises are held to a group of enthusiastic students. For this program we are looking for design students and others who have an affinity with art and design, text and image, and various mediums of visual communication to sign up and participate. Apply to Boomtown Summer School now and spend an invigorating week with us at the Gentse Feesten!
